Where are you from? Why would you want to drive a Durango?

It’s a 2 door durango, we don’t get those here.

Why can’t you make the argument that it’s significantly similar to our own Durango?

I doubt that would match for “crash test data”

What are you waiting for?
Weekend. Preferably the weekend of next week.
legally import
I can legally import all factory stock(ish) cars already, so the waiting would be on shipping.

Oh... but according to wikipedia, it’s a basically a Dodge Durango, less practical and 900 lbs heavier (!!!!), I think there is a reason why it stayed in Mexico :)

It’s not, a Durango’s based on the mid-sized Dakota, the Ramcharger’s built on the full-sized Ram.

Is it worth 900lbs extra weight, considering that it has a the exact same engine and exact same look as the Durango though?

Only sold in 2WD also, while the Durango was available in AWD...

yeah, I bet you could easily convert it though as this ram charger is a 1500 underneath.

It’s like asking is the 5-series worth the extra 1,000 lbs over the 3 series when they look the same. And it’s a truck, not a sports car, weight doesn’t matter that much.

Most likely, but it’s still a massive hassle to go through for what people will see as a basic 2 doors Durango (if they notice it only has 2 doors in the first place... took me a little to relaize the difference :) )

Well the 5 series is massive step up in term of space/luxury... The M3 is sprts car, the M5 is a first class fast freight train...Not sure a South America only 2 door Durango bodied 2WD only Dodge Ram1500 is a step up to anything...

It’s literally the same argument “is the bigger vehicle worth the extra weight when they look similar”
Also, Mexico is still North America.

I should be able to import one of these in a couple of years. I am always keeping an eye out for one. 92 or 93 Chrysler Phantom R/T from Mexico. Same motor that was in the Spirit R/T.

No it’s not... For two cars that look alike, (M3 and M5 for exemple), you expect the heavier car to be more confortable, more powerful, more luxurious, which is the case with the 5-series. In the case of the RamCharger vs Durango, the heavier car, the RamCharger is the less practical one, has no extra options over the Durango (it actually has less) and has less advantages over it (the Durango has better fuel economy, 2 doors over 4 and so on...). Don’t forget it’s an “SUV” that only comes in 2WD while the Durango, like all SUV that don’t solely target soccer moms had an AWD option. Other than that, same engine, same transmission as the 2WD Durango and the exact same interior...
So if you were telling me that you would want it because you like the 2 door look of it, despite all of its flaws, I would perfectly understand. But in the end it’s just a 2WD only 900lbs heavier Durango. And no, you cannot say it’s the same as M3 vs M5.

I don’t know what transmission it has, likely not the same as the Durango since it’s based on the Ram. It’s physically bigger, has more interior room, probably a higher towing capacity and GVWR. And why does bigger = more luxurious? That’s such an American thing to say.

They both have the same 5.9L Magnum engine... both also have the 46RE transmission.
Also bigger cars usually have more options than small cars yes... The 1-series is cheaper and more basic than the 3 series, which is smaller and less luxurious than the 5, which is smaller cheaper and less luxurious than the 6(I’ll give you that the 6 is more of a grand tourer though) to finish with the 7 series which is the ultimate big luxurious limousine-like BMW series... same goes with Mercedes, or Toyota... etc etc etc.... They produce small economy cars and luxurious much bigger cars. On the contrary, only Americans have big cars that look like econoboxes on the inside.
And the Durango is 4 inches shorter... and pretending to need a fairly useless at towing 2WD SUV because “you might need to tow some 6000lbs stuff”... now THAT’S such an American thing to say lol... I’m french BTW.
